I have enjoyed witnessing the calm that Breath~Body~Mind methods have brought to people of all ages. As an occupational therapist and craniosacral therapist, I have focused on integrative treatment techniques for over 30 years. My background is varied with extensive experience in newborn intensive care, supporting infants and their families in highly stressful conditions. Also, I developed a stress reduction approach for treating women in high-risk maternity using BBM-Coherent Breathing and QiGong, Craniosacral Therapy, and Compassionate Listening. In addition, I have found encouraging results while providing a Stress Reduction Program to the hospital therapy staff.
Within private practice, I have treasured the profound shifts towards health and well-being for infants through older adults in the areas of emotional comfort, pain reduction, infant feeding, digestion, physical healing, and overall development.
I find joy in education with my background including a Master’s degree in Biobehavioral Sciences and Applied Physiology from Teachers College-Columbia University, and a Certification in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy through The International Affiliation of Biodynamic Trainings. Also, I have had the pleasure of being a teaching assistant for BBM courses with Dr. Richard Brown and Dr. Patricia Gerbarg, and multiple programs in Craniosacral Therapy with Michael Shea Ph.D. In addition, I contributed two chapters to Dr. Shea’s book, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, with an emphasis on the treatment of respiratory and digestive difficulties. Currently, I am enrolled in a 10 part, 750 hour, professional training program Manual Techniques and Integrated Clinical Problem-Solving.
My understanding of blending BBM and craniosacral therapy techniques complements traditional and other integrative methods to facilitate healing in a unique manner. I am grateful for the sound experiences and sense of peace brought to me through the practices of Breath~Body~Mind.
