Terry McConnell

Shelburne Falls, MA

I graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1969 with a B.A. degree in history. Then I went to Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I received masters degrees in education and educational media in 1972 and 1973. In 1975, I received school library certification at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. I am currently pursing a doctoral degree in exercise physiology.

I spent 40 years as a public secondary school educator, teaching social studies for three years and then working as a school librarian for 36 years. I spent the last year of my educational career working in special education.

I've been a distance runner with asthma since I was 14 years old. Learning to deal with asthma as a runner inspired me to write the book, "Running with Asthma: An Asthmatic Runner's Memoir" in 2015. In 2018, I became a practitioner of Breath-Body-Mind and have been amazed to see my asthma symptoms disappear.

I am now a Level 2 practitioner of Breath-Body-Mind, and I have conducted breath workshops with my wife, Carol Pedigree McConnell, at the Greenfield, Massachusetts YMCA, the Greenfield, Massachusetts Senior Center, and the Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts Senior Center.
